Australian Space Curriculum Collaborative (ASCC)

The Australian Space Curriculum Collaborative (ASCC) is a four-day professional learning initiative officially recognised as an Adjacent Event of the 76th International Astronautical Congress (IAC2025) in Sydney. This national program brings together up to 40 leading educators and pre-service teachers to co-design open-access, curriculum-aligned space education resources aimed at building expertise in STEM and space science teaching across Australia.

Participants will engage in immersive activities including:

  • ✨ Curriculum innovation workshops led by the Aldrin Family Foundation and NSW Department of Education
  • 🛰 Hands-on CubeSat building experience with Robinson Aerospace
  • 🔭 Guided industry tour of the Optus Belrose Earth Station
  • 🎓 Keynote insights from Dr Andy Aldrin, space education leader and son of astronaut Buzz Aldrin
  • 🧪Workshops on delivering Interactive STEM experiments delivered by Fizzics Education

As part of their participation, delegates will also attend IAC Public Day (Friday 3 October) at ICC Sydney, with access to:

  • Young Space Explorers Showcase featuring student-led exhibits and NASA-inspired activations
  • VIP astronaut engagement sessions coordinated by the Australian Space Agency
  • A viewing of the Mission Patch Art Wall, displaying student artworks from across the nation themed on “Sustainable Space: Resilient Earth”

Thanks to the support of the Andy Thomas Space Foundation, limited $1,000 travel scholarships are available for educators and students from outside NSW (1 per state/territory).
