University of NSW (UNSW) Space Technology & Planetary Exploration Tour

From building spacecraft to walking on Mars in VR, UNSW’s cutting-edge labs and testing facilities are shaping the future of space exploration and mission readiness. 

How do we build and test small spacecraft, simulate the harsh conditions of space, or even walk on Mars virtually? The Australian Centre for Space Engineering Research at UNSW is pushing the boundaries of space technology, planetary exploration, and spacecraft engineering.  

This tour takes you behind the scenes of UNSW’s cutting-edge space research:  

  • Visit ACSER’s spacecraft lab, where cubesats and advanced space payloads are developed.  
  • Step into the Virtual Reality Mars Lab where you can explore the Red Planet like a future astronaut.  
  • Experience the Moon Yard, where space environments are simulated for mission-ready testing
