New world record: 3,000+ early bird registrations for IAC 2025 Sydney

Sydney has set a new world record with more than 3,000 early bird registrations

Sydney has set a new world record with more than 3,000 early bird registrations to the 76th International Astronautical Congress (IAC 2025) being held at the International Convention Centre from 29 September to 3 October 2025. The previous record was set by IAC 2024 in Milan.

IAC is the world’s biggest and often most strategically valuable space industry gathering where science meets policy, exploration meets innovation, and people meet possibilities. The Indo-Pacific has established itself as a worthy focus for international space nations, with delegates from more than 90 countries already represented.

“This record-breaking wave of early bird registrations shows an extraordinary vote of confidence in what Australia and the Indo-Pacific has to offer the global space sector,” said Lisa Vitaris, Space Industry Association of Australia (SIAA) executive and IAC 2025 Event Director.

“As proud host of IAC 2025, the Space Industry Association of Australia is thrilled to see such enthusiasm for an event designed to spotlight our nation’s fast-growing space sector and its contribution to global collaboration. From breakthrough technologies to bold new missions, IAC 2025 is where Australia welcomes the world to co-create the future of space.”

Every IAC around the world is organised by the International Astronautical Federation (IAF) with domestic leaders selected based on a highly competitive bid process. IAC 2025 is proudly  hosted by Space Industry Association of Australia (SIAA) and co-hosted by Australian Space Agency and NSW Government.

In its official announcement about the milestone, the IAF said, “This extraordinary achievement reflects the global space community’s growing enthusiasm and commitment to shaping the future of space. Held under the theme Sustainable Space: Resilient Earth, IAC 2025 will serve as a global platform for fostering dialogue, collaboration, and innovation on space-based solutions for Earth and beyond.”

“IAC 2025 will welcome thousands of space professionals, decision-makers, academics, industry leaders, astronauts, and students from across the globe. The comprehensive programme will feature over 200 technical sessions, high-level plenaries, ministerial and agency roundtables, and the IAF Global Networking Forum (GNF) — offering unmatched opportunities for knowledge exchange, strategic partnerships, and global visibility,” the IAF said in its statement.

As one of the world’s most iconic and dynamic cities, Sydney provides a spectacular backdrop for this landmark event, combining world-class infrastructure, diverse culture, and a vibrant aerospace ecosystem.

Next-wave pricing is available up to 30 August after which only full-price tickets will be available.
